Objectives : The purpose of this single case study is to examine the impact of sensory integration interventionon the sensory processing ability of a 7-year-old male child with trichotillomania.
Methods : We aim to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention by assessing changes in the TrichotillomaniaScale for Children Parent version (TSC-P), Sensory Profile (SP), and Canadian Occupational PerformanceMeasure (COPM), as reported by the caregiver, following 24 sessions of 45-minute sensory integrationinterventions.
Results : The results of this study suggest that sensory integration therapy has a positive impact on children withtrichotillomania, as evidenced by improvements in the severity of hair pulling, sensory processing, occupationalperformance, and satisfaction scores.
Conclusion : These findings provide clinical evidence for the use of sensory integration therapy as an effectiveintervention for children with trichotillomania, and in addition, suggest potential methods for enhancingoccupational performance.
